In what will easily be one of the best games of the Avalanche season, the Avs found themselves down two in the 3rd, found a way to tie it late to send it into overtime where Cale Makar finished off the comeback. The Avalanche extended their home winning streak to 17 games and their overall winning streak to eight.
It isn't all sunshine for the Avs however. Minutes into the game Nathan MacKinnon's stick came back and hit him in the face from a hit by Taylor Hall. MacKinnon was left bloodied and with a clearly broken nose. He did not return.
