The Colorado Avalanche have been waiting patiently while their fan base waits impatiently to hear when exactly Game 1 against the St. Louis Blues will happen. Coach Jared Bednar stated he heard the series would start on Tuesday but there was also the possibility it could start Wednesday. No matter when it starts it will be the beginning of the round that has haunted the Avs for a few years now. So how do they matchup against St. Louis?

The Blues have as much depth as the Avs and can score in similar fashion to the them as well. Where the Avs have the advantage in on the defensive side. The Blues will struggle defensively against a high powered offense, which is exactly what the Avs are. If these games get into high scoring affairs, it would have to favor the Avalanche because of this factor.

On the goalie side, Darcy Kuemper seems to be just fine and ready to go for Game 1. So we should expect him to pick up right where he left off prior to the injury. Jordan Binnington on the other hand did have a solid first round against Minnesota, but has struggled to keep the Avs off the board as of late.

Get ready for a great 2nd round! Whenever it may start!
