As if the Avalanche needed more to deal with heading into the regular season, their superstar forward Nathan MacKinnon will miss game one against Chicago after contracting COVID. MacKinnon is vaccinated and is asymptomatic so there is a chance he will be ready to go for game two on Saturday against St. Louis.
