Fans always hate a winner. And when a team is coming off a championship victory, many fan bases circle their calendars for when their team plays you. That isn't necessarily the case for the Colorado Avalanche heading into this season. If you were not a Tampa Bay Lightning fan, you likely were rooting for the Avs. Why? You didn't want that have to deal with the Tampa fan base rubbing it in for another season.
The Avalanche prevented that. So for at least this season, those people who were rooting for you are not going to suddenly turn against you. But if the Avs keep winning, would those fans do that very thing? Or do the Avs have fan-friendly players who could be rooted for no matter how often they win?
