It has been reported that the Colorado Avalanche and Nathan MacKinnon have been in early talks trying to hammer out an extension for the superstar forward that would kick into effect after next season. It's not something the Avs feel needs to be rushed into, but also something they would like done so it is one less thing to worry about next offseason.
