It's no secret Andre Burakovsky has had his ups and downs this season with the lowest point being a healthy scratch in a a few games this postseason. But this is why you always have to be ready when called upon.

Just over one minute into the OT session, Burakovsky was in the right place at the right time and he used that leathal wrist shot and perfect placement to get one past Tampa goalie Andrei Vasilevskiy and send the Avs faithful home with a 1-0 series lead.

The Avalanche came out hot and within the first 10 minutes of the game had gotten two past Vasilevskiy and another that hit the post. They were able to beat him a 3rd time before the period was over, making it the first time he has given up three goals in the first period of the postseason.

But he made life difficult for the Avalanche afterwards and we got a little taste of what he is capable of doing in shutting down an opponent so his team can claw back into a game. Which is exactly what Tampa did.

In the end, the Avs got the goal that matter most, the last one. Now we wait two days before trying to take the 2nd home game and a 2-0 series lead.
