The Tampa Bay Lightning, as expected, made the Colorado Avalanche fight for it, but in the end Cale Makar, taking his first ever shoot out attempt, put one past Andrei Vasilevskiy to give the Avalanche the much needed 2nd point and gave the Avs a happier flight back home.

The game, however, was not without controversy, as Steven Stamkos drove Avs defender Samuel Girard hard into the boards in a scary and unnecessary hit. No penalty was called and as of this recording, Stamkos has not heard from the Department of Player Safety. Why? How is this any different than the hit Gabriel Landeskog put on Kirby Dach that got him a two game suspension?
