As of this episode airing the Colorado Avalanche are on the outside looking in for a playoff spot. For some of the fan base, that's doom and gloom and the worst possible scenario for a team defending its Stanley Cup. While it's clearly not where the Avalanche wants to be, the Avs are on the doorstep of getting back into a postseason spot.
