While we are clearly still in celebration mode and will be for a while, it's always a good thing to look forward and guess what is to come for this Avalanche team next season.

Vegas already loves the Avs chances to repeat as they are the favorites to do it again. The question is should they be? Why are teams who win a championship immediately the favorites for next season when a pick hasn't been drafted or a free agent has been signed?

And for the Avalanche, there's a lot of signing to do. Joe Sakic has his work cut out for him this offseason in navigating an Avs roster that will look very different next year minus the core.

Can he bring back Kadri? Nichushkin? Kuemper? As is always the case, the price will have to be right.
