The Oakland Athletics announced that they'll be paying their full-time employees through the end of May, which is good news, but they were also the last team in baseball to confirm they'd be doing so and they waited until the end of the month to announce that there wouldn't be major layoffs.
None of this feels like what they wanted to do, but rather what they had to do to save face.
