18/8/98 was the most defining date in the history of Nu-metal thanks in many parts to the release of Korn's third album Follow The Leader that would go 14 times platinum. Spurred on by singles like Got The Life and Freak On A Leash with an amazing music video to accompany it, the band would become pop icons during a time when metal music was still on the precipice of the genre it would defined as and type cast to called Nu-Metal. Follow The Leader would be one of three albums released on the same day that helped shaped the new scene of music and drive its direction into new frontiers. This episode of Retro reviews discusses the other albums, addresses the songs that haven't been performed live (including the infamous one) and more. Tune in to hear my thoughts on this album.
