As I continue to discover unique voices from around the globe, I bumped into Rafael Gallo. Rafael is a Brazilian author whose work includes Rebentar. The heartbreaking hopeless story of a mother who lost her son.

My conversation discusses his ability to write not only this tale, but others from the perspective of a mother who has experienced this loss.

We also discuss the impact of his culture on his stories, as well as whether or not there is an ability for authors to find a universal connection.
