Live action remakes of animated properties are nothing new, but the frequency is increasing and it’s time we debate the quality and necessity of these films.

Other topics this week include the return of Borat and our thoughts on a deluge of new releases such as The New Mutants, Mulan, and Season Two of The Boys.

Plus we look back at our favorite films of 1988!

Cold Open: Trailer Talk - This past week we got our first look at Dune and our final look (again) at No Time to Die. (00:00)

Opening Credits: This week on Live Breathe Film with Corey, Doug, JP, and Murph… (11:54)

News: Topics include the highly secretive filming of Borat 2, COVID problems for The Batman, and box office updates on Tenet and Mulan as theaters reopen around the world. (12:27)

What We Watched: Highlights from the past week include Poltergeist (1982), Nightcrawler, Mulan (1998 and 2020), A.P. Bio (Season 3), The New Mutants, Lovecraft Country (Season 1: Episodes 3-4), and The Boys (Season 2: Episodes 1-3). (38:12)

Feature Presentation: "Fuck It, We'll Do It Live" aka When Animation Goes Live Action - Many animated properties have gone the live action route in the years since. We look at a few different genres (Disney, Saturday Morning Cartoons, and Anime), who these live action remakes are made for, and how successful they’ve been. (01:47:08)

Yearly Film Series: Our 1988 film selections include My Neighbor Totoro, Who Framed Roger Rabbit, Beetlejuice, and Big. (02:35:03)
