Agents of the Crown - How to Marry a Marquis + Miss Butterworth and the Mad Baron

James the Marquis of Riverdale returns on a personal detective mission and suspects Elizabeth Hotchkiss in “How to Marry a Marquis” by Julia Quinn!!

Elizabeth works as a companion for Lady Danbury and she manages her household consisting of four younger siblings since her baronet father past.  Her wages barely keep her family feed and the five year paid rental agreement will soon end.  Marriage to someone with money is the answer, as long as it is not to the creepy local squire.

James shows up at Lady D’s country house at her behest to sneak about and identify her blackmailer, but as her new estate manager, not as her nephew.  One of his suspects naturally is Elizabeth who he bumps into as she quickly leaves for the day.  His suspicions are on red alert when he sees a red book she’s trying to hide.

Elizabeth practices the rules in the ridiculous book on James and he uses his spy skills on Lizzie.  James finds out what the book is about and decides to help Lizzie find a match.  Join us as we discuss how their close proximity helped them create a bond and how loved ones helped them seal a rift! Then during our Pottail Pondering, we discuss one of the books Lizzie reads to Lady D, the graphic novel “Miss Butterworth and the Mad Baron” by JQ and Violet Charles!!
