In the late 1980s, few bands rocked harder than Opposition Party, the pioneering punk band that paved the way for other punk rockers, even as they blazed a trail into hardcore.

With their hard-as-nails look – spiky hair, chains, leathers and jeans – the band raised eyebrows at every gig, pelting the audience with their ferocious and face-melting sound as they thundered through songs like Impending Death, Brain F**ked and Hack 'n' Slash.

But how did Opposition Party get their start? What made them decide to steal Bon Jovi's booze? And why did they become a covers band – in Balestier?

Find out as singer/guitarist Francis Frightful bares all (well, nearly) about Opposition Party and why, many years later, he can't wait to get rocking on stage again!

PLUS! You can also stand a chance to win a copy of their album, ZOMBIFIED. All you have to do is like and follow their Facebook or Instagram pages and leave this message in the comments: "LION CITY PUNK ROCK".

There are five albums to be given away so don't say we bojio!
