Killarney Star, or Kaley Shorter offstage, is a Florida dreampop singer-songwriter wielding the piano as a storytelling canvas. In 2018 she and her husband found themselves jobless, as if the Universe had opened a door they had been seeking. They and their two kids sold their home and 97% of everything they owned, and moved into a 28-foot RV to travel North America. Killarney plays house concerts and pop-up shows in the wild, and is recording a new album on the road, singing about love, loss, and livin' in a van down by the river.
In this episode Killarney talks about why they made this choice and how her music finally, when she was 45, came to get first priority in her life, where it should have always been.
Killarney believes everyone has the capacity to clear their Space to Smile and do what they love, no matter their circumstances or age. As a Wayshower she's dedicated to walking her talk and showing others it's possible, even through the fear and confusion society heaps on us.
