Cornell Thomas is an athlete, speaker, author, thinker, coach, and more importantly than any of those titles he’s a husband and father.

Cornell is the perfect example of turning a loss into a win. Two weeks away from playing professional basketball in Europe, Cornell suffered a career ending injury that derailed his dream.

Thanks to the “real life” teachings from his amazing mother and hero, Tina Thomas, Cornell has been able to use the pain of adversity to find his purpose in helping others.

He is the author of The Power of Positivity - Controlling Where the Ball Bounces, Extra Ordinary - The Distance Between Good and Great, and Power of Me - Army of One.

He now shares his story to inspire and motivate others of all walks of life as he travels around the world, daring others to say, “What Now?” instead of “Why Me?” in the face of adversity.

In this episode we dive into:

1. Cornell’s loss of his father at the age of 3 and the lessons he learned from his mother as she stepped into the difficult role of raising her children as a single mother.

2. How we can reframe adversity as a gift rather than a setback.

3. How Cornell dealt with a shift in his purpose and how you can do the same if you need to pivot.

4. The difference between the “Why me?” mentality and the “What now?” mentality and how you can use this small distinction to use adversity as a springboard for growth.

5. Why Cornell believes that we all have a purpose and how we can start to navigate our way through life to find our path.
