Now, in all fairness, taking care of an aging parent brings challenges that no one's been prepared for. So, it's a highly emotional time. There's so much decision making and there's so much at stake. And really most of us don't do well when there's that much pressure. So, there's also the added pressure, there's family history dynamics, plus added pressure. And the fear of, you know, the margin of error that is involved with these decisions. So those combined the answer is, yes, it is common for siblings to disagree.

~ Kimberly Best- Family Mediator

Kim Hegwood brings in a guest to talk about something many of her clients are facing. Kimberly Best is a family mediator and is here today to talk about:

Caring for Aging Parents- When Siblings Disagree

A few topics they will discuss include:

1. Is it common for siblings to disagree on the care of an aging parent?

2. As a Registered Nurse, what have you experienced when families are not on the same page? How does it affect the senior needing care?

3. When should a family seek outside help?

4. How is Mediation Different from Counseling?

5. Can you give us an example of how mediation has helped one of your clients?

6. Can you tell us a little about your book, “How to Live Forever: A Guide to Writing the Final Chapter of Your Life Story.”
