Monarch #3 - The Prototype

The purpose of this series is to track our way through the books of Samuel and Kings, searching for the Promised Messiah. We’re going to look through the kings in Israel and Judah and ask, is this the snake crusher that was promised in the garden (Gen 3:15)? Is this the offspring of Abraham who would be a blessing to the world (Gen 12:3)? Is this Lion of Judah who is to hold the sceptre and never let it depart (Gen 49:10)? Ultimately for each king to rise in power in both Israel and Judah, the answer will be no. But all hope is not lost; God WILL give power to his King. God WILL lift up the horn of his anointed.
