James Lark has served as a regional representative on the Libertarian National Committee as well as the national chair of the Libertarian Party (2000-2002). Jim is frequently invited to give an address on college campuses entitled "Warning: Governmentally-Mandated Safety MeasuresMay Be Hazardous to Your Health." The address is based upon some of his course lectures given to students in the School of Engineering and Applied Science at the University of Virginia. It provides a basic introduction torisk analysis, along with information about ways in which government efforts undertaken to promote safety may actually make life less safe.
