Frederic Bastiat's "The Law": Resurrecting the SPIRIT of LIBERTY in an AGE of SOCIALISM

Frederic Bastiat was a French economist and an author who wrote one of the most famous treaties on what "law" is meant to be and how it needs to conform to the God-given natural rights of mankind. Although "The Law" was written in 1850, a few years after another French Revolution (following the murderous Jacobin Revolution of 1789) that saw France moving towards SOCIALISM and COMMUNISM, Bastiat's book is still VERY pertinent in the 21st century because America and the rest of 'free' Western Civilization is cataclysmically heading towards full-blown Socialism and Communism at a breakneck speed. Instead of protecting the rights of all citizens, the law has been used as a cudgel to plunder the people by violating, as Thomas Jefferson famously stated, "life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness [i.e., property]." As Americans, we need to resurrect the original intent of what America was formed and designed to be, thus reigniting the truisms of Liberty and Freedom all around the world, and to return the domain of government to what it should be: under the authority of WE THE PEOPLE.
