Our online worship for Sunday, October 4 is available now. It will be Climate in the Pulpit Sunday as well as World Communion Sunday on October 4th. We will be celebrating the Sacrament of the Lord’s Supper virtually. You may wish to assemble your crackers/bread and juice/wine prior to the service.

On Sunday, October 4, Lewinsville will participate in Interfaith Power and Light’s “Climate in the Pulpit” weekend. Interfaith Power and Light (IPL), a mission partner of Lewinsville, invites churches, synagogues, and mosques to lift up creation and cli-mate care in our worship services, as a way of affirming that care for the earth is a religious commitment and is part of our responsibility and calling to be stewards of God’s good gifts. It also gives us an opportunity to reflect on the ways that we have fallen short of God’s call to care for the earth with love.At its September meeting, the Session endorsed our participation in Climate in the Pulpit Sunday. This year, in a lovely confluence of themes, Climate in the Pulpit Sunday takes place on World Communion Sunday. This is particularly meaningful, as climate change is a global phenomenon that affects people all around the earth, in particular those who are the poorest and more vulnerable.So as we join together at Christ’s Communion Table, we also join together with our brothers and sisters in Christ from around the world in seeking to heal the earth by our own actions and by encouraging responsible environmental policies.
