According to a report by the Conference Board and the PR
Newswire, 61% of US companies have increased their philanthropic giving for
natural disasters in recent years and expect this trend to continue. However,
despite increased spending, less than half of these companies prepare for
natural disasters by conducting planning exercises or routinely evaluating the
impact of their efforts. Additionally, only 28% of companies collaborate with
other peer companies in their natural disaster efforts.

The report also indicates that employees have the broadest
influence in shaping corporate disaster response efforts, surpassing even the
CEO and C-Suite, influencing the response at 93% of firms. Companies predict
that employees will exert an even more significant influence in the years
ahead.
