The global sports sponsorship market was worth an estimated 57 billion U.S. dollars in 2020 and is projected to grow to approximately 90 billion U.S. dollars by 2027, Statista reports. The industries responsible for generating the largest revenue within sports sponsorship include financial services, technology, and the automotive industry. On a regional level, North America generated over a third of global sports sponsorship revenue in 2020, owing to its hugely commercially successful professional leagues, such as the MLB, NBA, and the NFL. Mark Palmer knows everything you need to know about forming effective and valuable partnerships. He’s the Director of Corporate Partnership and Sales for the Toronto Blue Jays. He joined me this week to discuss how to generate effective partnerships with corporate sponsors.
