As we head into Mother’s Day weekend, we can’t think of a better way to focus our thoughts than to acknowledge the powerful role that women play in shaping the lives of those around us. Today you may be grieving the loss of your own mother or perhaps you’re struggling in your role as a momma. Many of our listeners may be disappointed and hurt because their heart’s desire is to become a mother, but that hasn’t come to fruition just yet. And still, many of you may be relishing in all that God is doing in and through your life and your children. Wherever you’re coming from today, you can know that today’s story is going to refresh your soul, inspire your faith, and renew your ability to believe that God is the God of miracles.

Today's guest Johanna Garrison shares the made-for-a-movie, but real-life story of her own family's journey from war-torn Holland to America. Johanna's heartwarming accounts of her mother's faith in God carried their entire family through multiple tragedies. And as Johanna herself celebrates her first Mother's Day without her sweet Chinese momma, she provides a measure of hope for those who are asking, "If God really loved me, why did this happen?"
