"You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your mind.' This is the greatest and first commandment. And a second is like it: "You shall love your neighbor as yourself.’” (Matthew 22)

These words, quoted by Jesus from the Jewish scripture, teach us the requisite order of love. We are to love God with our whole being and recognize God as the very essence of love itself. We are to love ourselves by affirming our value and worth for we are God’s beloved children in whom God is most well pleased.
