Edgar Wright, Simon Pegg, and Nick Frost followed up Shuan of the Dead with the second installment of their now so-called Three Flavours Cornetto Triology - or, alternatively, the “Blood and Ice Cream” trilogy - trading zombie movie rom-com parody for buddy cop movies (Point Break or Bad Boys II?) and rural paranoia thrillers like The Wicker Man. When top London cop Nicholas Angel is transferred to a quaint countryside village and is saddled with inept partner, he begins to suspect that the town may be hiding a dark secret. Featuring Jim Broadbent, Timothy Dalton, Paddy Considine, Olivia Colman, and a whole village’s worth of stalwart British stars, the film was an instant hit and proved to be the highest-grossing “flavour” of the three. Now we’re taking a trip to Sandford, Gloucestershire, to get brainfreeze with Hot Fuzz!
