The Horrendous Story of Essure and the Amazing Women Who Never Gave Up

For a number of years I had the great pleasure of working with Erin Brockovich on many catastrophic issues, one of which was Essure. 
  
Many people may know what Essure is, but if you don't, it is a permanently implanted birth control device for women.
  
The story of this product is quite simply put, horrendous and Erin played a very active role in advocating for the removal of this device from the market for the reasons that are discussed in this podcast.    

She of course was joined by thousands of women who rallied against Bayer, the manufacturer, during which they encountered this massive hurdle called "FDA preemption."

FDA preemption is the legal theory in the United States that exempts product manufacturers from been held accountable for bad products approved by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA).
