The European Union's General Data Protection Regulation takes effect May 25, ushering in big changes for how businesses collect, process and store personal information. Sophisticated companies have been preparing for the better part of two years but others are playing catch up. And just because there’s been a long lead time doesn’t mean all the law’s ramifications are clear.
