In August of 2020, Citizens for Racial Equity in Washtenaw County (CREW) published its first formal report on racial disparities in the county's criminal legal system. CREW found glaring disparities in the experiences of white residents and residents of color in interactions with the county's police, prosecutors, and courts. We will be joined for a one-year update by Desirae Simmons, Co-Director, Interfaith Council for Peace and Justice, and Rev. Joe Summers, pastor of the Episcopal Church of the Incarnation. Both guests are CREW members.
