Today, Leafy Podcast host Jennifer Gligoric talks with Dave Zook, CEO and Founder of The Real Asset Investor.  Dave has acquired over $100 million in multi-family apartment investing and self-storage investing.  Dave started to ‘Pivot’ back in 2017, once he saw the bell curve for multi-family starting to fall and began investing in self-storage instead. He tells us that self-storage, even in a downturn, is a great investment because peoples’ habits are to want to hold on to their valuable “stuff”, even when losing a house, etc.  For Dave’s investment model, he is always looking for cash flow and tax benefits, which lead him to begin investing in ATM machines.  He and his investors have machines strategically placed throughout New York in toll plazas, McDonalds, train stations, airports; institutional locations.  Dave’s company manages these machines and the profit breakdown for investors is about 24.5% cash on cash returns. Dave tells us great places for these ATM machine investments right now are high foot traffic places like grocery stores and gas stations, where there is the densest traffic during the pandemic. In Dave’s own very interesting lifestyle, he has not seen a huge difference in operations during this Covid19 Pandemic and is still out looking for more opportunities in the market.  In closing, Dave tells us about his latest investment opportunity in Shale oil, used in the medical industry for IVs, etc.
