Born to a struggling, single mother and a drug dealer father, JT persevered and beat the odds through determination, positivity and a drive to never quit learning. JT is also the author of I Got There: How I Overcame Racism, Poverty, and Abuse to Achieve the American Dream, where he tells his inspiring story. JT also mentors at-risk youth in the juvenile justice system, as well as youth in low economic communities.
