The key to success is taking charge. Whether you’re an entrepreneur or an employee, you have to take full responsibility for everything you think, say, and do. That is the only way to show up, step up, and live up to this one-and-only life you’ve been given.

I'm honored to have my friend Ann Vertel on the show today to talk more about this. Ann is a motivational psychologist, retired Naval Officer, and high-performance speaker, trainer, coach, and consultant.

After retiring from a 20-year career in the military and getting a doctorate in psychology, Ann began coaching women leaders in high-performance skills. From there, she fell in love with watching women transform and succeed.

In this episode, Ann and I are discussing her transition to her new career. She helps us understand the changes she had to make in both her mindset and skills.

We'll dive deeper into these concepts:

The mindset changes Ann made when going from the military to the coaching industry. The mindset changes women, in particular, have to make when transitioning out of the corporate world. How Ann explained her value to others when she first started coaching. How her listening skills have developed. The importance of personal leadership. Other skills Ann has developed since starting her business. The people that helped her through her transition. Why community and collaboration are so important and powerful. Why you should only work with those who have the same values as you. How Ann structures her days as an entrepreneur.
