In episode 4 Andrew talks to Jane Burston, the founder and Executive Director of The Clean Air Fund, about leading without ego and building a movement to create clean air for all.

The Clean Air Fund calls air pollution a “hidden emergency”. In fact it’s one of the biggest public health issues we face globally – and it’s getting worse. 90% of people worldwide do not have clean air to breathe. And every minute one child and 12 adults die of illnesses caused by air pollution.

Putting an end to this is too big a task for just one organisation. It needs a global movement. And building that is what The Clean Air Fund is all about.

It’s a philanthropic foundation that brings together funders, researchers, policy makers and campaigners to strengthen their collective investment, voice and impact.

Says Jane: “Clean air initiatives can be a secret weapon against some of the world’s most pressing challenges but governments are largely ignoring them. We can tackle climate change, save lives and fight inequality at the same time if we invest more and work together.”
