Previous Episode: Hold the Line

Pastor Eric, Pastor Matthew, and Pastor Wade begin a new series by delivering this revelatory sermon entitled, "Metamorphosis". These men of God take a look at the lives of Joab, Abishai, and Ittai to discover cycles of discipleship that are present in the life of every believer. Each of us begins the discipleship process as Joab but we must learn to crucify this nature in order to experience the metamorphosis needed to become Abishai. As Abishai, we must become fully committed to being shepherded so that our desires and personal prerogatives are crushed as we learn to faithfully serve our Shepherding King. The final goal of every believer, in every area of life is that we might experience the full metamorphosis into Ittai. Ittai's devotion was to leave everything to follow after King David...and this was done as a foreigner to the people and plan of God. He counted devotion to the King as the highest and most noble of privileges that he could obtain. It was this attitude of thankfulness that allowed Ittai to be a man who climbed through the ranks of the army to be a general on behalf of the King he was so dedicated to serve. You will want to listen to this sermon multiple times in order to truly grasp the potency of the Metamorphosis that is available to each of us! Follow us throughout this series to see how these foundational and transformational revelations build toward a victorious, overcoming life in Christ.
