Dr Kelsey Erickson (@kelslee777 ) is a Research Fellow at Leeds Beckett University. Her primary research interest is the social psychology of doping in sport. Her PhD research was titled "Doping in Sport: a cross-national (US and UK) analysis of track and field athletes".

In this podcast Dr Erickson talks about the psychology of doping and about her research on global whistleblowing programs in sport.

Kelsey's principal research interest is doping in sport. Her doctoral studies were completed in January 2016 and were assisted by the financial support of the International Athletic Foundation (IAF). The program of study adopted a holistic approach to explore the lived experiences of track and field athletes; thus, documenting the relational aspects of doping for the first time.

During her studies, Kelsey simultaneously worked on projects commissioned by the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA), as well as providing assistance on multiple research studies funded by various organisations (e.g. UK Anti-Doping Agency, UK Military of Defense).

Research Interests

With the financial support of the International Olympic Committee (IOC), Kelsey's current research is focused on designing, piloting and evaluating an anti-doping education program for student-athletes in the US, UK and Canada.
