Spotlight on the Laura's House Legal Guardians Program

Laura’s House is a community-based non-profit organization that empowers individuals and families to lead violence-free lives. We offer a comprehensive range of services including safe refuge for women and children escaping violent homes. We also offer legal support services, counseling, community education, and prevention workshops for teens on healthy relationships and dating violence.

Through the Legal Guardians program, Laura’s House partners with law firms to provide effective legal assistance to victims of domestic violence and their families. Laura’s House works with it law firm partners to offer comprehensive training surrounding the legal issues associated with domestic violence, to the lawyers who are providing pro bono legal assistance to those in need.

Because Laura’s House clients need a voice in the legal system, our Legal Guardians program can not only change the lives of the victims of domestic violence, but also change local and global perceptions surrounding domestic violence.
