I was speaking with my friend, Mark LeBlanc.  We have both been speakers for more than 20 years and have always said we’re living the dream.  Mark said, following the pandemic, he felt it important to REIMAGINE our dream.

That comment has haunted me for the past few months and I have spent time doing just that, reimagining my dream.  

Research shows humans are happiest when they have:

Have quality relationships with family and friends,
Have a career or hobby they love and they find challenging, and 
Help others through volunteering or random acts of kindness.

So I have tried aligning my reimagined dream with these points. 

Even before the pandemic we knew the speaking industry was changing.  There are fewer conferences, so fewer opportunities to speak.  I enjoy speaking and it pays well, but in the past few years I have enjoyed doing stand-up more.  I do a CLEAN, stand-up comedy show called The Baby Boomer Comedy Show.  This past year I have spent time writing and improving this show.  Not only do I love the writing and performing for this show, it is challenging as well, and I feel like I am helping others by bringing them laughter.

I want to focus more time in 2023 to build up the number of shows I do a year.

In fact, Saturday, New Year’s Eve, I will be doing my Baby Boomer Comedy Show at the Norris Center in Naples, FL at 5 pm.  Come out and enjoy a night of laughter because you know how much laughter matters.
