Today, we come to a confrontation Jesus had with a crowd of people who the night before was fed during the feeding of the 5,000. Jesus calls out this crowd of people who seek Jesus for the wrong reasons. He attempts to re-calibrate their motivation by making a comparison between food that is temporary and spoils to heavenly food that is eternal and brings life. Underneath the narrative one can see what it will be like on the final day of Judgement as Jesus confronts the true motivation of the hearts in the crowd.
