We hear about property goals every day. Most folks want to harvest mature deer or the biggest deer the neighborhood produces. This goal has a flaw and we address that flaw in this week's podcast. To shoot mature deer, you have to produce them. Ask yourself, does your property produces mature deer on a regular basis? Most folks who answer this honestly would say, no or not as many as I would like.

Imagine if you could take your same property and increase the ability to produce 2-4 mature deer every year as opposed to one occasionally. The secret sauce here beyond trigger control is to create a secure environment. A secure environment is based on the density of cover offered at ground level. If you don't have it, then the chances of producing mature deer annually drastically decrease. There is no substitute here!

If you want to shoot older deer, keep it simple, make more of them!
