Welcome to a new episode of Land-Grant Holy Land’s I-70 podcast. On this show we talk all things Big Ten football and basketball. After every week of action, we will get you caught up on all the conference’s games and look ahead at the matchups, storylines, and players that you should be paying attention to in the next week. My name is Jordan Williams, and I am joined by my co-host Dante Morgan.
Michigan vs. Michigan State was everything we hoped for plus more. Big plays by unknown players. A Heisman moment by Kenneth Walker III, big time throws, big time defensive stops, and some gutsy play calls. With Michigan up 16 Michigan State showed their toughness and found a way to win. After a terrible showing against Illinois, Penn State came into this game fighting for their season and hoping to avoid three straight losses. They came out firing against Ohio State and made the Buckeyes earn a tough victory.
Dante and Jordan review the previous weekend games and review next weekends games. Next week games look weak on paper but nothing about this season is weak. Michigan, Michigan State, Ohio State, Penn State and Wisconsin all look to earn some style points against weaker opponents. Whether it's bouncing back from a loss, getting back into death star mode, or just trying to maintain momentum these games all have major implications and could turn ugly quick.
In their weekly pit stops, Dante is tired of the Mike Tomlin disrespect. He's one of the best coaches in the league let somehow is always on a "hot seat" and is being rumored for college football head coaching vacancies. Jordan is annoyed with fans wondering why C.J. Stroud doesn't keep the ball on zone read plays even though Ryan Day and the Buckeyes never run zone read because Day doesn't believe in running his quarterbacks.
