In the past, you could bring your empty laundry detergent, glass bottles, and junk mail to the Community Recycle Center and feel confident that each item financially supported their recycling efforts. But in recent years, in part due to complicated global forces, Moab’s Community Recycle Center has operated in the red. The cost of processing recycling is simply outstripping revenue. Now, the solid waste district wants to know – will community members accept a sponsorship program to support the Community Recycle Center? Today on the news, we speak with solid waste district manager Evan Tyrrell to learn more.
