A butterfly living in the high elevation wetlands on the Colorado Plateau is under threat. Their only food source grows near water, which is in short supply in a region with a warmer climate and reduced snowpack. Today on the news, a report on the ‘butterfly effect’ of climate change as the US Fish and Wildlife Service considers listing the silverspot as officially threatened. Plus, federal research is beginning to prevent and treat ‘long’ COVID. And, as Utah braces for another COVID-19 surge, doctors recommend ways to reduce risk.
