The Moab City Council is unanimously opposed to a September oil and gas lease sale affecting hundreds of thousands of acres in Grand and San Juan Counties. They voted Tuesday to send in comments to Utah’s Bureau of Land Management. During the meeting, council members talked about cumulative impacts of oil and gas leasing to the Moab area, like noise and air pollution. And later, our radio partners feature the loss of Glen Canyon to Lake Powell, and what the canyon means to many environmentalists all these years later.
