Lionsback Resort developers are seeking final master plan approvals for 34 casita dwellings – the first phase of their project off Sand Flats Road. Nearly $5 million worth of infrastructure is being installed at the site, which may eventually support a hotel, conference center, and restaurant. Although developers hope locals embrace the project, one of its longest opponents still questions the Utah agency that owns the land, saying the ‘develop-invest-repeat’ model will not help communities like Moab survive through the 21st century.
