The Grand County Local Homeless Council is launching Project SOL (Safe Outdoor Living) this holiday season. The project will serve as a repository of supplies aimed at making people experiencing homelessness safer and slightly more comfortable, like sleeping pads, campstoves, and grocery gift cards. Today on the news, we speak with a representative from the homeless council who says homelessness in Grand County is very complex and very real. Plus, this weekend marks the official start of the ‘holiday shopping season’ in the US. Our radio partners report on a worldwide movement to stop spending lots of money on things we don't need.
