On the south end of town, an old Volkswagen Beetle has a new paint job. Sunflowers and roses – favorites of Kylen Schulte and Crystal Turner – memorialize the couple, whose deaths in the La Sal Mountains last summer are still unsolved. Visible from Highway 191, the painted VW is linked to another effort to draw attention to the case – a future billboard.  Plus, a recent study finds sandstone towers and fins resonate much like beams in buildings.
