A group of local citizens won a lawsuit against Moab City related to the proposed Lionsback Resort, planned for development near Sand Flats Recreation Area. The Utah Court of Appeals ruled that Moab City violated state and local land use code when they approved the resort’s proposed modifications without a public hearing. However, an attorney for the city said this decision does not mean Lionsback Resort is simply going to ‘go away.’ But neither, say the citizens, will they.
