Salt Lake Tribune journalists Alastair Lee Bitsóí and Courtney Tanner broke a story last week when they reported that bodies of Paiute children are likely buried at the site of a former Indigenous boarding school those children were forced to attend in Panguitch, Utah. Today on the news, we speak with Bitsóí, who is Diné, on how they approached this reporting. He says it’s vital to work slowly, while putting the needs of tribal communities first.
