The third annual spiritual and protest walk in White Mesa takes place this Saturday. Each year, protesters march a few miles north of town to the last remaining conventional uranium mill in the country, owned and operated by Energy Fuels. Concerned community members say the mill impacts their air, water, and overall health. This year’s protest comes as the Trump Administration considers quotas for American uranium, which if granted would boost demand and prices for the product, increasing uranium mining in Southeastern Utah.
